I am a senior at Franklin College in Franklin, Ind. I'm young, enthusiastic and I'm ready to begin working at a news outlet somewhere. This is an exciting time to be a journalist and I look forward to being a part of this rapidly changing industry.

EXPERIENCE

I recently finished an internship with the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire as a general assignment reporter in Washington, D.C. I have had the opportunity to cover stories from Hillary Clinton's announcement of her support of action in Syria, to the Indiana congressional delegation's reactions to the government shutdown. I previously worked for two summers at the Evansville Courier & Press in Evansville, Ind., as a metro desk intern. I've also interned with WFYI in Indianapolis, the Martinsville Reporter-Times and TheStatehouseFile.com.

WHAT'S NEXT?
I am now back in Franklin getting ready to begin my final semester of college. I will graduate in May with a degree in journalism and certificates in both news-editorial writing and public relations. I hope to work at a daily news organization after graduation -- covering anything and everything -- either in Indiana or Washington.
